Various Artists - Ram Jam Master (1987)
One of the best riddims ever made (and one of my personal all-time favs), is the wonderful 'Jah Send Me Come/Darker Shade Of Black' riddim from 1987. Harmodio released a showcase album of it, which is now a true collector's item. Good news: the majority of the album is included here, the bad news: 1 track (General Webb's 'Proud A Mi Island') and Noel Davy's two versions are missing. I tried to fill the gaps with Harry J's lick on the riddim, a great threesome vocal track by Welton Irie, Ashman and Yellowman, plus another instrumental version of 'Jah Send Me Come'.

ReplyDeleteIf you own this ya one, how you missing tracks? Bless
ReplyDeleteJust some p2p downloaded tracks from different rips. Some pitch +1 and some pitch +2 and so on.
ReplyDeleteWhy even bother upload stuff if it's not the real thing?
Agree. Don't post something if you don't have it! Grabbing singles from here and there is not the same ting as having the LP!
ReplyDeleteI don't care...
ReplyDeletefeel free to use digitalreggae to make mixes and compilations.
ReplyDeleteDear friends, if an LP is rare (and this one's incredibly so), and it just won't show up anywhere (or for ridiculous prices only), then comes plan B - get the songs one-by-one from 7", 12" rips, and you might end up having the whole album, or might not. This was a hard job to get these tracks individually, I was hoping for a bit more positive reactions, to be honest.
ReplyDeleteYoo brother respect fi dis album
ReplyDeleteReally rare on!!
Respect that you uploaded dis album..
May Jah be with you !!!!!!
=D=D=D
I agree. I didn't have this album before this got posted, and now at least I can hear most of it. It might not be perfect, but its better than what I had... people should be a little more grateful that they're hearing rare tracks for free...
ReplyDeletethanks for puting this one together Jah Pasquerel
ReplyDeleteAw, don't listen to those complainers. I've been playing this and Dance Hall Vibes vol 1 overtime man. I din't give it a single thought where it came from. Who cares. Just say thanks to Jah Pasquerel & Digital Reggae. You guys provide the boss tunes for sure.
ReplyDeleteFi reall!!
ReplyDeleteErnie B reggae has this for sale too but his prices are way over the top! He actually wants over $100 for his copies. It can be bought if ya want it
ReplyDeleteYou may very well be right, but could you not ease up a little? Jah Pasquerel has certainly done me a favour. But if you're such a purist obviously this blog is not for you. Let us just enjoy the music. Give thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhen you post it, just honestly say what it is; a compiled, 'built' album or the original ... That way everybody's happy and nobody feels 'deceived' expecting the album ripp but finding a singles collection. I'm not a purist myself, but I can sure see where "Anonymous" is coming from ... Thanks for the blog tho', push Jah music forward ever !
ReplyDeletebless...me can't wait to hear dis selection.thanks for the effort.
